05 - Capybara
Mountain Range
[ Green Border]
Involuntary
poem made up with scattered hasty words evokes the surrounding life:
os fragmentos da natureza,
[trunks]
nature’s
fragments,
os personagens da religião,
[St. Dimas]
religious
characters,
os ídolos da política,
political idols,
o pacto do trabalho,
[Contract]
work pact,
a mistura de tudo
[ Welcome to Good Jesus – Northeast Warehouse]
the mixture of
everything
e finalmente o silêncio visual no tapete asfaltado em
volta do Parque da Serra da Capivara.
and finally the visual silence on
the paved carpet around the
Capybara Mountain Range Park.
At the park’s entrance, a tunnel announces an innermost
area,
[Pedro Rodrigues’s Land Burrow,
Carlindo’s vegetable-garden Burrow]
where words are
restricted to just the confrontation between
[ Candú’s burrow, Mario’s Burrow, Giordano’s
burrow]
the people who live over there
com a natureza em volta.
[ Burrow of the
embauba tree, Burrow of the deer]
and the
surrounding nature.
Enigma
Enigma of different directions springs from
scrambled words: white mountains, Nicholas, rum,
jaguar, tower, burrow,
bull, ranch and much more. There was mystery in that mess.
estava. Também.
[ Hell
]
Writer Guimarães Rosa was not present, but he
could be, but maybe he was, but he was there too. Too. Also. As well.
